Data-Driven Collaborative Decision Making in Complex Industrial Systems

Ruth Mesfin Gebregiorgis

Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant

I am Ruth Mesfin Gebregiorgis, originally from Ethiopia, and I am affiliated with the Data-Driven Industrial Systems group at Constructor University Bremen. My background combines academic development in Industrial Engineering and Management with a range of practical experiences in teaching, research, analysis, writing, and student support. At Constructor University, I have worked as a Python Teaching Assistant and as a Teaching Assistant at the Career Services Center, where I further developed my skills in communication, student guidance, and academic support. I also contributed as a Student Assistant for Dynamics Day Europe and as a Peer Mentor at Constructor Talent School, which strengthened my experience in event support, teamwork, and mentoring in an international academic environment.

Beyond teaching and student support, I have also built experience in research and analytical work. As a Research Analyst at Constructor Tech, I gained exposure to research-oriented and analytical tasks in a professional setting. In parallel, I worked as a Contributing Writer and later as a Staff Writer for The Global Review Group, where I researched international developments, summarized news stories on a weekly basis, and contributed to ongoing editorial improvement through regular collaboration. Within the Data-Driven Industrial Systems group, I currently support the courses Production Planning and Control and AI and Data Management for Industrial Solutions as a Teaching Assistant. At the same time, I am working on my thesis, “Exploring Causal Reinforcement Learning to Enhance Sustainability in Multimodal City Logistics,” through which I contribute to research on intelligent, data-driven, and sustainability-oriented decision-making in industrial and urban systems.
