Yusif Akbarov
I am Yusif Akbarov, originally from Azerbaijan, and I am currently studying Industrial Engineering and Management at Constructor University. My profile reflects a strong interest in industrial systems, logistics, and data-driven methods, supported by a broad range of teaching, analytical, and practice-oriented experiences at the university. At Data-Driven Industrial Systems Research Group, I currently serve as a Teaching Assistant for Production Planning and Control and AI and Data Management for Industrial Solutions, where I support lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and quantitative problem-solving in areas such as demand forecasting, capacity planning, MRP, scheduling, data preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, SQL, and machine learning foundations. I have also worked as a Teaching Assistant for General Industrial Engineering, Process Modeling & Simulation, Introduction to Finance and Accounting, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Microeconomics, which has allowed me to build a highly interdisciplinary profile across operations, analytics, simulation, and decision-making.
Beyond teaching, I have gained practical experience as a Project Management Intern at Uzuner Consulting GmbH, where I worked on digital maturity assessment and chatbot-related development support, and as a Research Assistant at GREEN – Gender-Research in Ecological Economics Network, where I contributed to research, report review, citation validation, and manuscript preparation. I am also active as an Events, Finance & Logistics Team Member in the Google Developers Group, further strengthening my experience in coordination, logistics, and event organization. In parallel, I am working on my thesis on causal reinforcement learning for sustainable city logistics. Through this work, I contribute to the group’s research on the application of advanced AI methods to industrial and urban systems, with a particular focus on sustainability-oriented decision support.
